Meet Your Poulsbo Dentist Thomas W. Redfern, DDS
Dr. Redfern was born and raised in Missoula, Montana, and is the eldest of three siblings. He graduated from the University of Montana in 1973 with a degree in zoology and then moved to Seattle for dental school. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Washington in 1977 and then practiced dentistry for three years in Okinawa, Japan for the US Navy. Upon returning to the US, Dr. Redfern opened this very practice in Poulsbo, WA and has enjoyed living in the Pacific Northwest for the past three decades.
With thirty-five years of experience in family dentistry, Dr. Redfern has continued to complete hundreds of hours of courses in postgraduate dentistry. He is interested in studying current advancements in dentistry, periodontal surgery, and he constantly keeps up-to-date with the latest technologies. He is dedicated to providing the best possible care and options for his patients and often participates in local study groups. He also regularly attends seminars to learn how to implement advanced techniques and equipment.
For the last few years, Dr. Redfern has provided dental care for the poor in Haiti and plans to continue to make that trip annually. When Dr. Redfern is not practicing his passion of dentistry, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Mary, and their two grown daughters. His favorite hobby involves working on automobile projects in his shop at home and searching for lost treasures in the local junkyards.
